According to J...

I nagged and nagged and here are the 7 weird things about me as observed by J:

1. "She has to have the bed made every day in order to function, but then cannot sleep in it unless it is completely destroyed."

2. "She's Canadian. Okay, it's strange to Americans."

3. "She can sit and watch television shows for hours, but does not like watching movies." I feel like I have to qualify here.... I, unlike my husband and many male friends, will always choose TV over crappy movies or movies I have already seen. (Though strangely I can watch Sex and the City, Family Guy and TPB episodes over and over.) Also, I often simply don't have the attention span for a movie so DVDs of entire seasons of a TV show are usually my preference.

4. "She boasts about how cold Canada is and how she can handle it, yet her showers have to be scalding hot." While he always complains about the cold yet indulges in sub-zero cleaning rituals.... opposites attract I guess.

5. "She's from Canada, but doesn't like camping or beer."

6. "She remembers everything! That may not be strang, but it can be a real pain in the a**."
heh heh.

7. "She is incapable of slicing cheese in a straight line."

On a completely unrelated note, we won not one, but two prizes at the command Christmas party. A shitasu massage chair and an 8 GB Ipod Nano. Just what I wanted. Of course, since the tickets were selected by their number and not a specific name, there is some debate between J and I as to who won what.....

30 Weeks

J is in Germany until tonight, so his entry will have to wait until I have time to nag him. For now, here is a glorious shot of 30 weeks/7 months. "Wow, how time flies!" you're all saying.... I know you are. Well, with 10 weeks left I have to say that pregnancy has been like standing beside a pot of water waiting for it to boil. It starts from the moment you pour in the water to the sight of the first, most minute, bubble making its way to the surface, making you hope in vain, "is this it? will it boil now? how about now?...... or now?" to much further beyond that. Eventually all pots must boil..... I think. Or is it what goes up, must come down?

At my checkup on Monday the doctor quickly determined that little bubbles is head down. Hooray. Let's hope she stays that way. Her heartrate is 150, my weight gain is 21.5 pounds. So (knock on wood) "pound packing 2007" seems to have slowed for the moment. (I only gained a half a pound in the last two weeks.) I switched to cycling at the gym in order to relieve the round ligament pain and discovered that without pain I can get in a much better/more effective workout. Maybe it has contributed to the deceleration.

I went to the second childbirth class yesterday. Our doula was the instructor. Most of the stuff is info I've read about but I was horrified/shocked to hear that there have been doctors, in the history of the world, (NOT the norm.... so don't freak out) that have broken the bag of waters without the woman's permission. Going so far as to hide the hook in his/her sleeve or gave it a quick slice with a fingernail. Terrible.

Tomorrow night is the command Christmas party where I hope to win a good prize (an Ipod would be nice) as consolation for being the eternal designated driver. At least it seems eternal.

Soon to Come.....

Thanks for the tag, Alie. I promise I will get to it soon and by I, I mean J, because I'm asking him to come up with 7 weird things about me. So there will be a guest post in the next few days!
