6 Weeks Old
Baby Nadia turned 6 weeks old yesterday. She weighs a whopping 10 lbs, 2 ounces and is now smiling... only every few days and so far only for mom, but smiling nonetheless. She sleeps 6-7 hours straight at night, leaving her mama supremely engorged until such time as she wakes up and begins her marathon and non-stop daytime feedings. Ah well, it's worth it for the sleep. Her mama is far less psychotic this way.
Nadia has thinning brown hair and blue eyes with a bobble-head physique. She enjoys being read to, dancing to hip hop or hungarian music with her mama, car rides and long walks around military bases. You should meet her.Friday, April 04, 2008
Random Bulletpoints
- In the news this week, J got his wings! Sure, he's a tried and true surface navy guy and not so crazy about the air component, but it's still pretty cool and we're proud of him.
- We got Nadia's passport earlier this week. This is the only picture we were able to get shortly after birth that shows her ears and opened eyes. It's pretty terrible but will only be with her for the next five years. I think she looks like a shifty and disinterested mafia don, or rather, donna. How appropriate, considering her place of birth.
- I think all newborn clothes should have attached footsies. Even if one can find socks to fit their tiny feet, they are almost always kicked off, leaving them cold and exposed. I guess that's why most people keep their babies in sleepers/pyjamas and not in cute people-style outfits. Maybe I have a lesson to learn in practicality.
- I'm finally feeling well enough to go for walks. I think I might try a powerwalk at the gym today and/or this weekend. It will be my first attempt at shoving the stroller into the jeep; I may or may not be able to shift gears.
- Nadia has become a barf machine. Our entire house smells like baby puke. Mmmm.
