Josée Ema

Just a quick announcement about the birth of our second daughter. She arrived on 10-10-10 at 3:20 in the morning. I went into labor the morning of my due date, October 8th, so, yeah, it was long. I am pleased to say I had a successful vbac despite her being, and staying, posterior, and attritube that mostly to the fact that I labored at home for 31 hours with J and a team of midwives' support before transferring to the hospital. The original plan was to have her at home but I did the best I could under the circumstances and am pleased with the outcome. Though it wasn't a section this time, the birth was not without trauma (um, did I mention posterior?) so it may be a while before I'm back to running. It's all good, though, I am so happy she's here and am excited to get to know her.

I promise more pictures to come. After 43 hours of intensity we're both a little tired and it's hard to find photo ops with her eyes open! Even though, strangely, and frustratingly, she does spend a lot of time not-asleep. Guess we both need some time to figure out what, besides nursing, makes her happy.
