Y'all Might As Well Know
In a fit of despair yesterday at the prospect of J not having a job and us not having medical insurance in 6 months, without planning to, I sorta announced my pregnancy. Oops. We weren't going to tell many people (and certainly didn't as early as last time) for two reasons a. We obviously have A LOT going on and haven't been able to get excited about it just yet and b. I feel totally different than last time. Sure, I'm extremely tired (though this could easily be attributed to the hypothyroidism I was recently diagnosed with-did I mention that?- I just started the meds), and I've had a couple of weeks of nausea and food aversion (ginger pills helped immensely this time and now it seems to be passing), but I don't feel "pregnant" like I did immediately with Nadia. I have yet to see a doctor, though I've done numerous pee tests both at home and at the office and I assume they would have called me and not put me in the OB system if their tests had been negative. Their OBs' time is soooo very very precious, after all. I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and will have a "find the hearbeat u/s" on the 15th which will either confirm or deny my suspicions. I won't even go into how enraged I was after the "newly pregnant" class I was forced to endure and all of the policies they have that I don't agree with. Suffice it to say we're exploring our options, because, oh, we might actually have some this time around. Even if it means paying out of pocket.

Patience
Life is anything but boring these days..... Nadia turns 2 this weekend, we're moving some time, to somewhere, neither of which is known just yet. I promise I will post about all of this soon.

Brunette Ponette
Nadia had her first trip to the salon last weekend for two reasons a. I suck at cutting her bangs and they always look it. and b. I'm tired of fighting the ponytail battle. I'm too tired to fight over silly things. She has been cursed with about the worst hair: double crown and super fine, straight, strands, so the only thing to do when it's long is to put it up, which is cute, but she resists every time. Maybe long hair will be revisited when she's olderSo gone is the lion-maned-crazy-cat-lady-look and here is my little 'Madeline'. And I think she's pretty darn cute.
Intentions
I had the best of intentions for this day. I was going to run 3.5 miles with the stroller. I was going to go to the farmer's market for some much-needed fruits and vegetables. I was going to upload some pictures. Instead, I woke up to the sound of J's alarm going off for 30 minutes at 5 and was later prodded (at around 6:30) out of bed by the sound of an unhappy child. Very unusual, since she usually plays happily after waking and never cries anymore. I then served said child her breakfast and she promptly threw it up. I guess her off-and-on low-grade fever and general crankiness of the past couple of days is now solved. So. She is now eating saltines (soda crackers for you Canadians) and watching tv and I imagine those are probably going to be the day's highlights. I try to limit tv to one episode of sesame street per day but on sick days I'm not creative or energetic enough to avoid the tube babysitter. Sorry.
Just as well since it's a blustery, miserable, day outside with high wind warnings. Not so fun when one is pushing a stroller.
