The heat wave is set to end by Wednesday and it's not a moment too soon. I absolute hate air conditioning and try to avoid it at all costs (cost being one of the reasons - being allergic, or so I've diagnosed myself - being another), but when the temp goes over 95 and the heat index breaks 100, well, at nearly 6 months pregnant, enough is enough. Today I managed to hold out until 3:30 pm (this being a couple of hours after a sweaty and miserable nap) before turning it on so at least I'm still able to exercise some sort of restraint.

Still Alive
Just busy unpacking and fighting fleas. Oh yeah, did I mention the previous owners and their dogs left us with fleas in the carpets? Lovely. And here we have no pets.
Still running at 24 weeks though 10k is starting to feel like a half marathon. The lower abdominal pain I had last time is just starting though the support band seems to keep it tolerable. I've gained 10 lbs, a weight gain that has slowed in the past week probably because we've been, well, moving, in like, 90 degree heat, so I'm probably sweating out every bit of water I might otherwise retain. I've hardly sat down in the past 10 days and by bedtime my feets are aching, yo. Fortunately I have a kind husband who rubs them so the pain doesn't keep my from sleeping. Speaking of which, happy father's day to J.... I've been so busy I didn't even get him a card. I'm horrible. But to be fair we decided that for mother's and father's day this year we were giving each other a house. A pretty nice gift I'd say.

Should I Eat More Breakfast?
Ok, for the past couple of days during my runs I have been feeling a nagging hungry nauseous feeling, maybe you know the one. I'm wondering if I need to start eating a slightly bigger breakfast to avoid this. My usual meal consists of yogurt, flaxseed, orange juice, coffee, and a prune, the total calories being somewhere between 220 and 350 calories, depending on the type/amount of yogurt I have. Any given run is only between 3 and 6.2 miles which is hardly a huge tax on anyone's reserves, so, what gives? If I do add more to my breakfast I'm worried that it will only make me feel worse; I hate running feeling food sloshing around in my stomach. What to do what to do. Any thoughts?
N quote of the day: (yesterday) "Yes, that fo' yiddle moops," in reference to the pill box beside my bed after I told her it was definitely NOT for little moops.
